Emerald Acres Farm is operated by Eric and Brenda Huffman and is located at 262 Huffman Rd. in the village of Moscow, Ontario. Eric was born and raised on the farm and is the sixth generation of Huffman’s who have farmed this land. Eric inherited the farm in July 1993 when his father, Jack Huffman, passed away. Even while working a full-time job, Eric raised several different kinds of animals and worked the land, along with the help of his wife, Brenda, to keep the farm going. Before his retirement, Eric often said that he would like to have a small herd of purebred Boer goats. He wanted quality, not quantity. We had raised Boer goats in the past and had a very large herd, over 80 does, but we were both working full-time jobs and it became overwhelming. Fortunately, we were able to find a good home with kind people who purchased the whole herd. Before his retirement, Eric would often say how he would like to have a small herd of Boer goats. He wanted quality, not quantity. We travelled all over Ontario and western Quebec picking out excellent purebred breeding does and one well-bred male. We now maintain a herd of 20 does and 3 billy goats for breeding as well as five doelings and 3 young males.
